Seven Minutes of World Peace – A Global Yearning for Peace on the International Day of Peace
Session Description:
Inaugurated at a meditation session at the United Nations by self-described “student of peace” Sri Chinmoy, Seven Minutes of World Peace is a simultaneous global yearning for peace through meditation and silent prayer. It takes place on September 21—the International Day of Peace—from 9:00-9:07 AM (US Eastern time) each year. The session is an interactive one–with presenters offering what HAS been done, to engage all participants in discussing future outreach and programs. “There shall come a time when this world of ours will be flooded with peace. Who is going to bring about this radical change? It will be you: you and your sisters and brothers. You and your oneness-heart will spread peace throughout the length and breadth of the world.” – Sri Chinmoy
