Sharing Lessons from the INTRA-faith Struggles Against Religious Extremism
Session Description:
Religious extremities, racism, and ultranationalism are on the rise and democracy is retreating all over the world. Sharing the ways to combat these evils from different faith backgrounds makes the movement for tolerance and religious harmony grow much stronger. It is critically needed today. A similar session in the 2015 Salt Lake City Parliament was much appreciated and it is even more needed today and is even more appropriate because of the theme of the current Parliament. Experts and activists who have been combating religious extremists in their communities of Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jews, and Muslims share their experiences and discuss ways to foster religious tolerance, especially in the youth.
