Sharing Local Experiences: Interfaith Phenomenon in Taiwan
Session Description:
Taiwan is an island miraculously full of religious experiences. It is rich in Chinese religions such as Taoism, Buddhism, and folk religions but also rich in the world’s large religions like Christianity and Islam. This session explores how these religions peacefully coexist and shares insights to the world on how humankind in Taiwan experiences interfaith living and its challenges. In this session, four Taiwanese scholars discuss their recent research related to Chinese religions, Buddhist traditions, Islamic traditions, and three newer East Asian religions.
