The Interconnection of Rights: Humans and the Environment in Sacred Relationship
Session Description:
This session focuses on how humans and the natural environment are bound to one another for survival, with the rights of both interdependent upon the other. We look at examples such as humans’ right to clean air, water, or food and how the environment also benefits from these rights. Using the lens of Spiritual Ecology, participants have opportunities to explore together how we can fuse our environmental work with our human rights pursuits as well as our spiritual endeavors toward transformative change within our unique and inspired niches. The session is designed so that participants are guided through the various activities along with question/answer, sharing, and discussion. This is not a sectarian offering; it is intended to support people of all faiths in finding and deepening their own relationship to self, nature, and others through peaceable, interdisciplinary practices that they create consistent with their specific beliefs.
