The Ling Jiou Mountain: A Natural Museum

Session Description:

Ling Jiou Mountain overlooks the sea with its vast peaks. Its sides are covered in native plants, and all kinds of animals such as tree frogs, eagles, squirrels, and wild boars are allowed to wander freely amongst the Monastery’s buildings. Even though these buildings are far apart from one another, the monks and nuns can take in their beautiful natural surroundings as they traverse from building to building. The nuns and monks, the animals, and the natural environment depict a kind of harmony in coexistence and interdependence. Ling Jiou Mountain is not only the home of the Monastery and a biome, but is also a natural museum that shows the connection between spirituality and ecology and the harmony that exists between the two in this world.
