The Pen and the Sword: Ansari Institute’s Nasr Prize With Religions for Peace Service Awards

Session Description:

This session celebrates scholarship on religion and faith-based service that serves as a force for good in the world. The University of Notre Dame’s Ansari Institute confers an annual prize, in honor of Randa and Sherif Nasr, to a book that represents a particular tradition, is academically grounded yet publicly accessible, addresses one or more global problems, and conducive to multifaith engagement on “the world as it should be.” Join the session to learn about this year’s winner and meet the author. To award not just scholarship but also service, we honor the work of generous human beings whose contributions, rooted in deep faith, have had a meaningful impact on the world. The awards for lifetime service are conferred by the Ansari Institute in partnership with Religions for Peace, the world’s largest multifaith NGO affiliated with the United Nations.
