Today’s Children, Tomorrow’s Stewards of Peace

PoWR’s vision of a peaceful and equitable world rests not only on what today’s leaders do but also on ensuring that tomorrow’s leaders become agents for a better, more harmonious world. This session explores ways to cultivate and nurture the value of peace in young children. Because, when we recognize the power of peace, we treasure relationships, respect, kindness, forgiveness, and well-being over unhealthy competition, toxic stress, and violence. In addition, no education is complete without helping children cultivate tools for self-actualization, including: meditation, compassionate communication, and service to others. These are the cornerstones to becoming productive members, effective role models, and powerful agents for change fostering peaceful and just communities.
