The Prophet Isaiah envisions a time of peace where the people “shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks.” RAWtools is an organization that has been living into a modern-day version of this vision by taking decommissioned guns and melting them down into gardening tools. This workshop consists of a live demonstration of their blacksmithing ceremony and a discussion of how their work coincides with the first directive of the Global Ethic: “a commitment to non-violence and a respect for life.”
