Understanding Spiritual Rights: A Pathway to Defending Human Rights

Session Description:

Recognizing that we humans are spiritual beings, a United Nations task force has investigated the topic of universal spiritual rights. Their starting premise was that any kind of rights can only be insured and enjoyed when spiritual well-being is understood and promoted. This session is comprised of spiritual leaders who are affiliated with the greater United Nations community. They have first-hand experience with human rights and the mission and vision of the UN. They have contributed to fostering their own as well as our collective understanding of universal spiritual rights. They present their insights on what universal spiritual rights are, along with describing their efforts relating to how these rights can be promoted and protected as we defend freedom and human rights in our various arenas in our ever-changing world. They refer to the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and, at the same time, share the UN document on universal spiritual rights.
