For Immediate Release: The World’s Religions to Celebrate Canada Day in Toronto July 2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The World’s Religions Celebrate Canada Day
Toronto – July 1, 2018

As the excitement builds for this year’s Parliament of the World’s Religions conference, the Toronto Area Interfaith Council, University of Toronto’s Multi Faith Centre, and the Toronto 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions team are holding a Special Canada Day celebration of Sacred Ceremonies and Prayers, led by Elders from the City’s diverse faith communities.
On July 2nd, the University of Toronto’s Multi Faith Centre will serve as a church, a temple, a mosque, a synagogue, an ancestral place of worship and a place of meditative silence.  This event, sponsored by the Toronto Area Interfaith Council and co-sponsored by the Multi Faith Centre, is an official Pre-Parliament Event. The Parliament of the World’s Religions will gather in Toronto this year from November 1st to 7th.
“This is a perfect opportunity for us to show we stand with people of all of the world’s religions, faith and spiritual traditions as we celebrate Canada Day in peace and creative energy,” said Karen Hamilton, Co-Chair of the Toronto 2018 Parliament. “Canadians are well placed to show the world how it’s done.”
The celebrations will take place on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Multi Faith Centre, 569 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON M5S 2J7.  RSVP to Dr. John Joseph Mastandrea at johnjosephm@metunited.org, 416 809-6044.
