The Role of Multi-Religious Youth Engagement to Promote the Human Rights of Women and the Girl-Child

Session Description:

This session from the Religions for Peace International Youth Committee piggybacks off of the first session that explores how religious patriarchy, as well as political and economic climates exacerbate the human rights infractions of women and girls worldwide. With learnings from the first session, this session entails IYC Members as facilitators in creating more strategic planning in addressing these issues and structuring some suggested tangible plans of actions that participants can take back to their own communities and attempt to implement. The idea is to empower young leaders to work within their own cultural and religious contexts that enable them to continue the work they are already doing in their own communities, but with better tools and ideas that are brought forth by these two sessions. This session involves several group activities and several collaborative efforts of all who attend.
