The Accelerate Peace Conference Featured Key Conversations on the Importance of Trust, Community and Action
On June 25th and 26th, our friends at United Religions Initiative hosted their 2019 International Conference at the Hoover Institution on the Stanford University campus in California, USA. Accelerate Peace: Interfaith Action in Global Peacebuilding brought together peacebuilders from around the world to discuss challenges to peace, both in their local communities and on an international level, and also to discuss action-oriented solutions to benefit all of humanity.
Thousands of interfaith activists from around the world enjoyed access to the programming in person and via livestream. Parliament Chair, Audrey Kitagawa, represented the Parliament of the World’s Religions and joined leaders from key international interfaith organizations in a lively discussion on interfaith action and its role in global peacebuilding. Peacebuilding through Promoting Enduring, Daily Interfaith Cooperation: From Dialogue to Action featured a lively discussion on various interpretations of the ways in which interfaith dialogue can lead to interfaith action and in many ways it is action itself. The conversation focused on the importance of trust, community, and spiritual sustainability within the context of interfaith dialogue and understanding.

The program also featured Mohammed Abu-Nimer, the Rev. Jennifer Bailey, Radia Bakkouch, Phil Lane, Rabbi Daniel Lehmann, and Michael Pappas. Here a few key takeaways from the program:
