Mahrukh Motafram

Mahrukh Motafram is a nonprofit consultant and fundraising strategist, and the founder of Simoorg LLC, which she launched in 2023 to guide small to medium-sized nonprofits through periods of transition. She often serves as an interim executive leader in development and operations, bringing stability, strategy, and vision to organizations working with marginalized and disadvantaged communities—especially women and children.

Her expertise spans fundraising, growth, organizational restructuring, and strategic operations. A certified fundraising professional from the University of Washington, Seattle, Mahrukh also specializes in grant writing and management strategies across government agencies, private entities, foundations, and corporations.

Mahrukh’s leadership extends beyond consultancy into board governance and interfaith dialogue. She previously served as Board Member and President of the Assistance League® of the Eastside, supporting families affected by poverty, homelessness, and domestic violence. She is currently a member of the Advisory Council for the Center of Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement at Seattle University, where she contributes to educational initiatives that foster collaboration between local and international partners, and is often invited to speak on the history and ethos of Zoroastrianism. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, where she chairs the global communications team in her second term.

Her deep involvement with the North American Zoroastrian community spans more than three decades. Through the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA), she has served as an executive board member, committee chair, and strategic planning leader, and currently co-chairs the North American Zarathushti Congress and chairs the FEZANA Constitution Review Committee. She has also been a board member and trustee of the Zoroastrian Society of Washington State.

Based in Sammamish, Washington, with her husband Feroze, Mahrukh enjoys traveling, cooking ethnic dishes, music, and time with family and friends.
