Reconnecting Indigenous Sovereignty, Spirituality, Human Rights, and Biocultural Conservation
Session Description:
Indigenous medicine practices and spirituality are experiencing a complex of pressures and threats that require organizing and standing up for land and cultural rights in new ways—grounded in traditional wisdom. Traditional knowledge-holders share how engaging in biocultural conservation of their sacred lands, traditions, and medicines such as Ayahuasca, Peyote, and Iboga directly supports their community capacity to stand up for their basic Human Rights and prepare for a healthy future.
