    Join in and create a lovely paper angel which is the symbol of protection or other beautiful cutwork image with amazing Ukrainian artist and performer Marta.

    Plastic is consuming our world and cannot always be recycled. Turn it into things of joy and learn about other great choices for our Earth.

    Create artwork depicting a celebration you love and record yourself telling future generations about why it’s special to you! Recordings go onto the time capsule.

    Mine of Virtues: The Jewels of Humanity

    What is a virtue and why is it such an important principle in the Bahá’í Faith? Join in this fun activity to learn how the Baha’i tradition teaches that all human beings are created noble by God, and the “gems” inside each of us are the spiritual virtues that we can unearth through education. Put on your miner’s hat, enter the sparkling mine and discover your very own virtuous gem.

Come visit “Jain” the Calf of PoWR who would love for us to live a compassionate vegetarian lifestyle and learn about the deep commitment the Jain community has to avoid violence in all things.

    Learn how yoga connects body, mind, and soul which leads to more personal peace and kindness. The animal poses can even make the connection to nature itself! Pictures included!

    Tea Thyme: Healing Teas from Dandelions and More

    Meet Mambo Jae Herb Goddess and Priestess in the African Traditional Religions. Visit her Parliament kitchen and engage in a hands-on program making and sampling healing teas from regional herbs that you can find in your backyard.

    About Kids of PoWR

    The Parliament of the World’s Religions is teaming up once again with Spiritual Playdate to bring fun, interactive, and inspiring kids and family programs to the 2023 Parliament Convening in Chicago this August.

    Don’t miss this opportunity to share in a unique and engaging Kids of PoWR program track and uplift this next generation with hope and courage. Are you a parent, grandparent, teacher, faith educator, counselor, or mentor of young people? Experience a new way of connecting with kids on a heart level.

    • The Kids of PoWR program track at the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions is open to children ages 6-13 in the company of a *parent or guardian.

      • General Admission – $100
        • 1 child admission ticket
        • 5-day access to all programs
        • Free lunch with langar
      • 2 Kids for Price of 1 Day Pass – $50
        • 2 child admission tickets
        • 1-day access on the date of choice
        • Free lunch with langar
      • Kid groups of 10+ – $12
        • For schools and group field trips
        • 1-day access on the date of choice
        • Requires at least 1 adult per 15 children

      *Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult.

      Chaperones must register for the general PoWR conference at $50 for a day pass (Code: KidsDay) and $125 for the week(Code: KidsWeek).

      Family passes for registrants booking accommodations through the PoWR hotel block will cost $500 for Parliament access and include two adults and up to four children attending as Kids of PoWR participants. Email info@parliamentofreligions.org with your booking confirmation for next steps.

      To this end, we seek to build bridges of acceptance and understanding by facilitating face-to-face interactions and enacting thoughtful, inclusive, and fun programs that spark ongoing impact in both individuals and communities.

      PoWR and Spiritual Playdate’s first official programmatic partnership took place at the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto, Canada with the Interfaith Family Festival.

      At the 2023 Parliament Convening in Chicago, we’re doing it again with the Kids of PoWR track and it’s more important than ever!
